Correction Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Our Commitment to Accuracy
Apex Digest, published by Agarawal Associates, is committed to providing accurate, reliable, and current legal information to advocates, law students, and legal researchers across India. Every judgment summary, courtroom argument framework, and article published on this platform is carefully reviewed before publication.
We recognise, however, that errors can occur — whether in citation references, section numbers, case names, dates, or legal interpretation. When errors are identified, we correct them promptly, transparently, and without concealment.
Types of Corrections
We classify corrections into three categories:
Factual Corrections — Errors in case names, citations, court names, bench composition, dates of decision, or section numbers of statutes cited. These are corrected immediately upon verification and marked with a correction notice.
Analytical Corrections — Where our summary, ratio decidendi, or holding misrepresents the court's actual finding. These are reviewed by an advocate at Agarawal Associates before correction and are disclosed with a brief explanation of what was changed and why.
Editorial Updates — Where a judgment we have summarised has subsequently been overruled, modified, or distinguished by a later Supreme Court decision. The original entry is updated and clearly marked to reflect the current legal position.
How to Report an Error
If you believe any content on Apex Digest contains a factual, citation, or analytical error, please write to us at Agarawal.associate@gmail.com with the subject line "Correction Request — [Case Name]".
Your report should include:
- The URL of the page containing the error
- A description of the specific error
- The correct information, with a reference to the primary source (official gazette, SCC, IndKan, or Supreme Court of India website) wherever possible
Our Correction Process
Upon receiving a correction request, we will:
- Acknowledge your report within 2 working days
- Verify the error against primary legal sources
- Make the correction within 5 working days of verification
- Add a correction notice at the foot of the corrected page identifying what was changed and when
- Notify you by email once the correction is live
We do not silently delete or rewrite content. All substantive corrections are disclosed on the relevant page so that readers who may have relied on the earlier version are aware of the change.
Overruled and Distinguished Judgments
Indian law evolves continuously. Where the Supreme Court subsequently overrules, modifies, or significantly distinguishes a case covered on Apex Digest, we will update the original summary to carry a prominent notice — for example:
Editorial Notice
This judgment was subsequently overruled / distinguished by [Case Name] — [Citation]. The analysis below reflects the law as it stood at the time of the original decision. Please read the later judgment for the current position.
We aim to identify such developments proactively through our Supreme Court monitoring system. Subscribers and readers may also alert us at the email above.
Scope of this Policy
This policy applies to all original content published on Apex Digest, including:
- Judgment summaries (Apex Digest section)
- Courtroom argument frameworks (Argument Lab)
- Bare Act plain-language explanations
- Articles and legal commentary
This policy does not apply to external links or third-party resources referenced on this platform. We are not responsible for errors in external sources.
No Removal of Legitimately Published Content
Correction requests are not removal requests. We do not remove legitimately published case summaries on the ground that a party to the litigation finds the content unfavourable. Supreme Court judgments are public-domain documents under Indian law, and our summaries and analysis constitute lawful editorial commentary.
Requests for removal on legal grounds should be sent to the address below and will be reviewed by our advocate team.
